Titanium Chronograph Watches

Author: James Manning

Renowned as the most comfortable watch metal around, titanium is lightweight, easy to care for, and is currently the hottest fashion choice in watches. Titanium Chronograph Watches are favorites among watch connoisseurs and those who enjoy the finer things in life.

THERMAL SENSATIONS
Much the way that marble always feels cool, metals also have specific standing temperatures. When we put these metals against our skin, our thermal receptors respond to the new stimuli (the metal); cooler metal quickly draws heat from our warm skin, and the thermal receptors send a message to the brain reporting that the metal is cold. It is the sudden change in temperature - not the metal itself - that dictates thermal comfort.

TEMPERATURE CONDUCTIVITY
Although all metals conduct heat efficiently, stainless steel, aluminum, and gold conduct heat much more rapidly than titanium. This quick heat conduction creates a noticeable feeling of cold when the metal is touched to our skin. In very warm temperatures, such as in hot summer sunlight, the metal quickly absorbs the outside air temperature, and increases the temperature of the metal causing a watch to be extremely uncomfortable. In the same way that a spoon left inside a saucepan will quickly take on the temperature of the pot boiling on the stove, so too will many metals when in contact with a very warm environment.

Titanium watches do not experience such a dramatic heat transfer, due to the fact that titanium is a less efficient heat conductor. Ultimately, this makes for a far more comfortable watch: The wearer of a titanium watch does not feel sudden cold or extreme heat based on outside temperature; titanium retains its neutral temperature for much longer than most other metals. HOT FASHION
Scientific information about heat transfer is all well and good, but perhaps the number one reason why so many people choose titanium watches is because of their beautiful look and continual, long-wearing comfort. No matter why you think they're cool, titanium watches are a hot fashion choice everyone can agree on.

Perrelet Automatic Tourbillon Titanium Watch

Author: Ariel Adams

I think Perrelet Titanium Watch got it smack dab n the middle between formal and sport watches with this Automatic Tourbillon watch in titanium (and 18k rose gold). A few years ago it would have been absurd to mix gold and titanium, and today looking at this watch, the harmony seems almost natural.
With what could be described as a very Jaquet Droz inspired dial layout, the face of this watch has an off-center dial with a large, nicely made tourbillon serving as the small seconds. No nonsense gold colored hour markers are both aggressive and classy, while the splash of carbon fiber tells you that this is a less sensitive watch. Inside the 42mm wide case with its sandwiched titanium and smooth gold bezel and back, an automatic Perrelet caliber P161 runs with a massive 110 hours of power reserve. Really nice to have that type of power life as well as automatic winding. Lastly, it is certified as a chronometer, something less than average for a tourbillon based timepiece.
Titanium Watch
While the watch looks effortlessly marketable, it is in a limited edition of just 20 pieces. This does sort of make sense since the market for ultra-expensive complex sport watches is still niche to say the least. A rubber strap, double anti reflective coating on the sapphire crystal and 50 meters of water resistance make this an all too tempting investment to get dirty.

Archimede Pilot T Titanium watch: do you feel lighter now?

Author: http://www.worldwatchreviews.com

The German watchmaker Ickler GmbH has added yet another member to its growing Archimede family of watches.

Called the Archimede Pilot T (T is for Titanium here - Titanium Chronograph Watc), this timekeeping instrument tips the scales at meager 65g, which is 11g less than the weight of the stainless still version of this beautiful watch. And it is just €30 more expensive than the latter.

Just like the recently introduced PVD-coated Archimede Black Pilot M watch, the Pilot Titanium sports a simple and highly legible black face with large bold Arabic numerals and markers, as well hour and minute hands, all of these covered with a luminous substance. A rather small date window is located between 4 and 5 o’clock.

And like the rest of the family, the Archimede Pilot T is powered by the same ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, which is highly popular among independent watchmakers.
Although not as refined and expensive-looking as the IWC Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Edition TOP GUN, it is certainly a nice watch to have.
